It’s funny, I get this question a lot when talking about Rhapsody. I just assume everyone knows what Rhapsody is, but it’s time for a clear definition.
Rhapsody is a music subscription service that delivers the following:
- music streaming from their catalog of 1.5 million plus songs
- the ability to download songs to your harddrive as part of the service
- allows you to mix songs already on your hard drive with the music from the Rhapsody catalog
- the ability to purchase songs if you want to burn them on a CD
- the ability to search and find music from a huge variety of artists/albums/genres
- offers music recommendations based on which artists you listen to
- has over 100 pre-defined ad-free radio stations
- gives you the ability to create dozens of personalized music stations based on up to 10 artists that you select
- gives you premium CD burning software as part of the client (they got it from RealNetworks and it works very well)
- is a tremendous tool for music discovery
The cost is $9.99 per month for Rhapsody Unlimited and $14.99 per month for Rhapsody To Go if you want to put the Rhapsody music library on your MP3 player.
Hope this helps!
