The following instructions for burning a cd with Rhapsody assumes the fact that you have a CD burner on your computer, you have tracks on your harddrive that you have either ripped from CDs, imported from somewhere, purchased through a service or otherwise own and that you have a subscription to Rhapsody (don’t laugh - you’d be suprised at the email I get).
1. Insert a blank CD-R or CD-RW into the drive on your computer.
Note: CD-R disks are recommended for maximum burn compatibility and for the most flexibility when listening to your CD on other devices, such as car stereos and portable CD players. Not all CD players can play CD-RWs.
2. Click the Burn tab in the Mixer.
3. Add tracks into the Burn view of the Mixer by one of the following methods:
- Drag and drop tracks from My Library to the Mixer.
- Drag and drop an entire playlist from the Source List to the Mixer.
- From the Music Guide, click and hold [CTL] on your keyboard, then click next to any track or album to add it to the Mixer.
Note: Tracks that you can purchase and burn to CD are marked with a Buy button ( ), visible when you are signed out, throughout the Rhapsody Music Guide. Tracks that don’t have this icon next to them are not yet available for purchase and CD burning. However, Rhapsody is securing the rights to new music every day, so check back often.
4. Rearrange the order of the tracks, if necessary, by dragging them higher or lower in the list.
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 as often as you need until you are ready to burn.
6. Click in the Mixer or select Tools > Preferences: CD Burning from the Rhapsody menu to change your CD Burning Preferences. (It is recommended that you allow Rhapsody to choose your burn settings.)
7. Click Burn at the bottom of the Mixer. If there are any Rhapsody subscription tracks ( , ) in the Mixer that you have not yet purchased, you will be prompted at this time to do so.
8. If you purchased tracks, click Burn again to restart the process. After the CD burning starts, you will see your CD’s progress in the Mixer.
Note: Rhapsody burns CDs in CD Digital Audio (.cda) format. This is the format used in music CDs from local retailers
